NEWS | U.S. Soccer launches food drive in Columbus

U.S. Soccer is proud to combine forces with Mid-Ohio Foodbank and Columbus Crew SC to embrace and give back to Columbus and the surrounding communities with a Fan Food Drive.

In the week leading up to the U.S. Men's National Team's match against Mexico, presented by AT&T, on Friday, Nov. 11, fans will be able to donate food items at three locations throughout the city: U.S. Soccer Store, the Crew SC Shop at MAPFRE Stadium and Short North Pint House. The U.S. Soccer Store is a temporary location opening from Nov. 4 to Nov. 12 in downtown Columbus where fans will have the opportunity to purchase official U.S. Soccer merchandise.

Fans who donate 10 or more items will have the opportunity to enter a raffle for a chance to win a pair of tickets to the match on Friday. Suggested food items to donate such as dry pasta, peanut butter and canned tuna are listed below. The winner of the Fan Food Drive raffle will be announced by a special guest during the Thursday Night FanHQ party at Short North Pint House.

The Mid-Ohio Foodbank has been providing efficient, effective ways for communities across central and eastern Ohio to meet their basic food and nutrition needs for 36 years. Partnerships with organizations such as U.S. Soccer allow the Mid-Ohio Foodbank to distribute over 50 million pounds of food annually and provide more than 149,164 meals to hungry citizens - most of them children and seniors - every day.
