Film critic Bob Garver is back with reviews for the latest theatrical releases, and he’s not holding back!
Leading the pack is A Working Man, starring Jason Statham as a soldier with PTSD. While the emotional premise is promising, Garver finds the film underwhelming, giving it a C-minus.
Death of a Unicorn, featuring Jenna Ortega and Paul Rudd, starts strong but loses focus, earning a C grade. Minecraft: The Movie may be a box office juggernaut, but Garver criticizes its weak special effects and humor, resulting in a D rating.
Suspense thriller Drop offers tension but stumbles at the end, landing a B-minus. Meanwhile, Warfare delivers impressive war sequences and earns a solid B.
Unfortunately, The King of Kings and The Amateur both disappoint with weak humor and endings, each receiving a C.
However, Sinners, directed by Ryan Coogler, stands out with its bold genre-blending and emotional depth, earning Bob’s highest score of the week — a B.
Upcoming releases to watch for include Marvel’s Thunderbolts and a rebooted Fantastic Four.
Catch Bob’s reviews for an honest, no-nonsense guide to your next movie night!
