The other individual, described only as a good Samaritan, was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and remains in critical condition as of July 22. 🗣️ A spokesperson for OIJ said: “The second victim came in [the water] to help Mr. Warner.” No identity has been released for this brave individual, and the investigation remains ongoing. ❤️ Warner’s Final Moments and Cause of Death According to the Costa Rican Red Cross, the emergency call came in at 2:10 p.m. local time, and two adult males were treated on-site. CPR was administered to Warner for 20 minutes, but he was declared deceased at the scene. An autopsy confirmed Warner’s official cause of death as accidental asphyxiation by submersion.
