Ohio Insurance Institute

COLUMBUS – Ohio Lt. Governor Mary Taylor announced the launch of the “Think Again” insurance initiative to empower Ohioans at all life stages to take charge of their financial future by planning, organizing and sharing their financial and insurance information with each other now.

From millennials to baby boomers, to the gen-x “sandwich”’ generation in-between, the Think Again insurance initiative is designed to get families talking and examining their planning for a financially fit and insurance-ready future.

“This initiative is designed to stimulate conversation and action among families and friends across all age groups,” said Taylor, also director of the Ohio Department of Insurance. “Having these conversations now can ease future life transitions.”

To kick off the campaign, Taylor is focusing on baby boomers, urging them to share their experience and knowledge about financial planning and security with their families or closest friends. “Baby boomers take pride in their generation’s leadership role so showing that leadership for the betterment of the financial future of loved ones makes all the sense in the world,” Taylor said.

Taylor also provided these tips:

1. Plan. Use the financial and insurance planning checklists available at www.insurance.ohio.gov.
2. Organize. Keep all of your financial and insurance paperwork in one location. Maintain a list of companies and policy numbers as well as account passwords and user names.
3. Share. Provide the location of these documents or copies of this important information to people you most trust.
