COLUMN: Malone University to present the Criminal & Restorative Justice Program Sept. 22

Malone University

Malone University's Center for Christian Faith & Culture, the Criminal & Restorative Justice program, and Rising Hope Ministries will present, "Serve and Protect: For Whom and By Whom" with Dr. Tobias Winright and Officer Lamar Sharpe  on Thursday, September 22 at 6:30 p.m. at Malone University.

In the midst of claims that 'black lives matter' or 'blue lives matter,' this presentation explores policing from a Christian theological and ethical perspective.
Learn about the history of policing and outlines different models of policing, along with the currently dominant military approach to policing. In turn, various Christian viewpoints on policing, especially police use of force, will be detailed, pointing toward an approach to policing that is more consistent with Christian ethical themes and principles.

Our featured speaker will be Tobias Winright of Saint Louis University with response from Canton City Police Officer, Lamar Sharpe.
