NEWS | Stark County artists paint a response to local hunger during the Palette2Palate charity art auction

Stark County Hunger Task Force

Palette2Palate dishes out a celebration of art, while setting the tables of the hungry of Stark County.
The arts community continues its collaboration with the Stark County Hunger Task Force to fight local hunger by staging the fourth annual Palette2Palate charity art event Nov. 5 at the Joseph A. Saxton Gallery of Photography in Canton.

Talented local artists graciously donated their work to be featured for purchase in both live and silent auctions with proceeds going to help alleviate hunger in Stark County.
Purchasing an original work of art during the event directly benefits our neighbors in need. Every dollar raised provides up to seven pounds of groceries for residents struggling to put food on their table.

Doors of the 520 Cleveland Ave NW gallery open at 7 p.m. for this much anticipated art exhibition and charity art auction. For tickets, go to www.starkhunger.org – a pre-sale price of $50 continues through Oct. 29, after which the price increases to $55.

Works of art will be exhibited for an hour and a half prior to the auction. During this time, there will also be a silent auction featuring a variety of items generously donated by local businesses and area cultural institutions.

Along with local art to peruse, Joy-us Moments will provide musical entertainment, Bill and Mary’s Creative Catering will serve heavy appetizers and Kat’s Bake Shoppe will tempt with amazing desserts. Each ticket holder receives two complimentary beverages.

Attendees will then transition into the live auction of donated artwork, called by auctioneer Kris Ross and the assistance of our emcee Jay Spencer.

“We are very grateful for the support of these talented members of Canton’s arts community and appreciate the local businesses that have supported Palette2Palate by donating items for the silent auction,” said Mary Anne Schwartz, SCHTF board member and event chairperson. “We applaud Tim Belden for hosting us for the third year in a row.”
